Role Purpose

At its core, the role of the Associate Activation Director is to take ownership and be a performance lead on key accounts. You will manage and oversee client teams to ensure the effective delivery of client campaigns through high quality client relationship management and campaign execution across established and new to market digital platforms.

Whilst experience in managing digital performance campaigns is a must, the successful candidate will also demonstrate the ability to effectively manage demanding clients and lead a team to deliver industry best results.

Key Accountabilities

Client-facing responsibility

  • Be the senior point of contact for a group of clients and act as the escalation point for all team members within the client pod
  • Fully understand client business objectives / communication objectives and ensure these are translated into meaningful platform strategies and executed faultlessly.
  • Attend and represent the team at important external and internal client meetings, including senior management status meetings, briefing sessions, campaign reviews, QBRs etc.

Partner relationship management

  • Develop and foster an effective working relationship with our key partners at Google and Facebook to ensure we continue to deliver best in class campaigns and identify potential alpha / beta trials.
  • Constantly review and trial our display and programmatic partners to meet the changing needs of iProspect and our clients.

Team & Workload management

  • Be responsible for the development of managers within your team, including the setting of personal objectives and performance
  • Support your teams to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of work, identifying improvements to ways o​f working where required. Client profitability and finance
  • Be responsible for the delivery of revenue across the clients within your teams and pursue all potential cross sell / up sell opportunities
  • Ensure your teams are completing billing and reconciliation of campaign spend / income in a timely and accurate manner so suppliers are paid on time, and clients are invoiced on time 

Campaign Management

  • Oversee the development of client digital strategies to deliver against clear performance KPIs.
  • Ensure campaigns are delivered on time and as planned with no overspends or errors in delivery. 

Product Development & New Business

  • Remain abreast of developments in Digital Media
  • Create case studies and award entries based on campaign results as appropriate
  • Lead new business RFPs and pitches as required 

 Person Specification

  • Minimum 7 years’ agency side experience in a digital strategy and/or execution role
  • Experience managing a team to deliver best in class client campaigns
  • Experience managing senior client relationships 

Professional Skills

  • Articulate presenter, with the ability to present to senior clients and internal agency teams, comfortable with showing what data means and how we can take action based upon it
  • Passionate about and engaged with the fast changing world of digital media
  • Good understanding of planning digital campaigns across the various mechanisms, channels and buying models
  • Practical expertise in paid social and/or programmatic display with a good understanding of the role of paid search
  • Strongly numerate and comfortable manipulating data sets
  • Highly literate with a good understanding of how language is used to communicate to different audiences.
  • Commitment to deliver first class work every time, and never leave a quality issue unchecked
  • Diligence and attention to detail in optimisation and reporting
  • Highly commercial  - selling value, negotiation, client relationship management skills, how to be a trusted business advisor
  • Excellent planning, analytical and organisational skills alongside high attention to detail 

What success in this role looks like

  • Have built strong relationships with client and iProspect stakeholders, meeting regularly to review previous and upcoming work to ensure everything is delivered on time and accurately
  • Have instilled a strong attention to detail within your direct reports, following all processes defined by the Head of Operations
  • Have worked with the Head of Product & Strategy, clients and DAN stakeholders to implement innovative digital solutions to meet client objectives, with case studies created
  • Have identified and delivered new business / cross sell / up sell opportunities in partnership with the Client Business Director and DAN Stakeholders
  • Have led successful new business pitches
  • Have delivered several thought leadership pieces and POVs within trade media, boosting
