After much speculation of Amazon acquiring part of the troubled ad-tech company Sizmek, the deal was finally confirmed on May 31st. Amazon announced that it will buy Sizmek Ad Server and Sizmek DCO (Dynamic Creative Optimization).
While the DCO business has immediate synergy with Amazon’s extensive consumer behavior data, it’s the ad server acquisition that has the potential to strike a major impact on the industry.
