Google Keyword Planner usually publishes monthly search volume data in the second week of the following month. However, for a currently unknown reason, November 2016 search volume data was not made available in December. In fact, it wasn’t until January 12th that this data was released and as of publishing, December 2016 data is still not available.
Monthly search volume data gives an insight into seasonal search trends as well as year on year interest. This data informs our clients multi-channel strategies covering SEO, PPC and content and for many of our clients the data is intrinsic to investment planning.
Google limited the availability of Monthly Keyword Planner data in 2016 for users without spends established, so could this extended delay be a sign that keyword volume data could be something of the past by the end of 2017?
