Team Lead, Earned Media (SEO)


Job Summary

Reporting to the Director, Digital Marketing Production, the Earned Media Team Lead must be able to work effectively with all agency departments, have a hands-on approach with their team and be an active participant in change management. The Earned Media Team Lead must show effective leadership qualities with a focus on productivity and efficiency while maintaining a fruitful and positive working environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day activities of the team including priorities management, communicating process, policies, performance, quality expectations, product updates, as well as department and company information;
  • Responsible for the execution on key accounts;
  • Balancing team composition, responsibilities and workloads for optimal team production performance based on workload demands;
  • Responsible for production output, and ensuring that production standards remain high and ahead of the curve (with the Product Leads);
  • Provide management and professional guidance to team members through weekly one-on-one meetings, regular team meetings, bi-annual performance reviews, and defining goals for individuals and the team;
  • Support and mobilize the team towards project, team and company goals;
  • Responsible for identifying staffing needs, recruiting, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations;
  • Support cross-teaming within the company, all of services, sales, and the account managers to support prompt & efficient delivery to customers;
  • Work closely with his/her Toronto counterpart to ensure consistency and efficiency at the national level;
  • Counsel and help direct career development for direct reports;
  • Refine and manage internal standards across all SEO services;
  • Be the representative and spokesperson for the SEO Montreal team within the company and mobilize the team towards our goals;
  • Coordinating with other marketing production leaders to meet ongoing overall production demands of the organization.


Professional experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar management position in the digital industry;
  • University Degree in relevant field (Marketing, Business Administration, Communications & Technical backgrounds are welcome);
  • Bilingual (English and French);
  • Strong experience and knowledge in digital marketing (SEO, Social media, PPC strategy, web analytics, mobile marketing and conversion optimization);
  • Experience with digital marketing tools like Brightedge, Advanced Web Ranking, AHref, Cognitive SEO, Google Keyword Tool Ability to measure and understand the effectiveness of marketing production against project KPIs, and offer solutions and ideas to improve upon them;
  • Experience in managing complex earned/paid media initiatives.

  • Must be able to draw critical analysis from data and make specific recommendations – i.e. adapted to change strategies and recommendations based on data sets;
  • Ability to contribute to company’s thought leadership on industry topics;
  • Ability to learn new technology platforms in a timely manner.
