Earned Media Analyst


Job Summary

The Earned Media Analyst - Onsite, specialized in onsite analysis and optimization, reports directly to Team Lead and Head of Earned Media, and the Practice Lead will determine best practices for onsite specifications based on latest Google guidelines.

He/She plays integral role in execution of the Earned Media channel team; outlining effective strategy and techniques for client accounts, as well as implementing the search engine optimization discipline, in addition to presenting recommendations and strategy to clients, especially for content marketing.

This role involves working very closely with the Digital Strategists to provide onsite expertise and strategy input.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide recommendations on everything onsite related to the client website. 
  • Be able to determine strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for a client website, especially for possible impacts related to latest Google algorithm updates: Penguin, Panda, Pigeon and Hummingbird.
  • Question inbound tasks strategically and suggest tasks and alternatives when appropriate.
  • Do production and define operational strategies related to onsite: onsite audit, microformats, local audit, onsite mobile optimizations, mobile and tablet guidelines, recommandations for international websites, advanced onsite page markup, multi-language recommendations.
  • Be able to communicate with developers to implement recommendations.
  • Help clients earn links on premium SEO websites.
  • Help define support materials for content promotion: white papers, infographics, videos.
  • Ensure that quality of links acquired is appropriate to the current project and client needs. QA all links or leads before they are reported to client.
  • Keywords research.
  • Deliver production for clients and tasks assigned to (30 hrs a week).
  • Work with Digital Strategists to ensure that due date will be sustained.
  • Raise flags proactively when results are not in line with objectives and goals, based on client or Digital Strategist's expectations. Suggest strategic or tactical adjustments in order to meet them.
  • Daily communication with Digital Business Strategists.
  • Weekly status and progress meeting with Digital Strategists and Team Lead.


  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • French/English; bilingual at least in written.
  • 2 years of experience in SEO.
  • Working understanding of PPC, Display Media, Affiliates, Feeds, Mobile, Social and Attribution.
  • Deep knowledge on advanced SEO theory and applied techniques (web ranking, link analysis, data analytics, ranking factors, SEO hack), especially on onsite optimization.
  • Programming knowledge, especially HTML, PHP, Javascript. Scripting competencies an asset.
  • Knowledge on CMS platforms (especially Wordpress).
  • Personal blog is an asset.
  • Knowledge of specific SEO tools, analytics and reporting platforms such as Brightedge, Google Analytics, Google Webmaster tools, Screaming Frog.
  • Experience in multiple client verticals.
  • Ability to measure and understand the effectiveness of marketing production against project KPIs, and offer solutions and ideas to improve upon them.
  • Self-driven, thrives in an autonomous and result-based environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas, tactics and results in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
