Age Verification Systems (AVS) are commonly used on websites that sell liquor and tobacco products and on other sites, such as adult sites, that wish to block younger users for legal reasons. Although the age verification system may serve its initial purpose, problems arise with this type of process because of its technical construction which prohibits search engine spiders from accessing the Web page content, including links and internal pages of the website. Fortunately, there are some solutions to this problem that can be worked into a comprehensive search engine optimization campaign.
